About

The World Sports Alliance (WSA) is an intergovernmental organization that was inaugurated during the High-Level Segment of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) in 2006 in Geneva. Officially established on May 29, 2007, the WSA operates under the framework of the Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties, which is part of the United Nations Treaty Series that came into force on January 27, 1980. On May 29, 2007, the joint declaration by the sovereign states of the Kingdom of Morocco, the Dominican Republic, and the Republic of Niger, as outlined in the Rabat Declaration (UN-ECOSOC-E/2007/NGO/1), served as the Constitutive Act of the WSA. Since then, through an established accession process, the organization has successfully expanded its membership to include a total of 34 Member States.

Governance of the World Sports Alliance is ensured by the Executive Office of the President (EOP), which holds the authority to create entities, recruit talent, and define the titles, rights, and responsibilities essential for the achievement of the organization’s goals and missions.

To reach its objectives, the Executive Office of the President of the WSA has appointed the Monegasque Corporation “Monaco One,” led by Mr. John Novak, Mr. Kory Tarpenning, and Mr. Barry Delaney, as its Global Integrator.

This corporation’s mission is to generate revenue for the Alliance, secure substantial funding for the launch of the Pilot Project to promote the Vision and Mission of the WSA and develop a self-sustaining model for implementation across all Member States.

WSA-IGO is dedicated to promoting sustainable socio-economic development through the platform of Physical Education, Sport, and Leisure (PESL), the WSA plays a crucial role in fostering multilateral cooperation among its Member States, aligned with its overarching mission.

Over the past fifteen years, the WSA has particularly focused its efforts on the Sport 4 Peace initiative, originally supported by the United Nations Office for Sport for Development and Peace (UNOSDP).

With the new administration in place tasked with the restructuring under my leadership, the WSA aims to highlight Economic Growth while actively engaging in the fight against Climate Change.
